Oh, hello. Fancy meeting you here. Two questions are probably going through your mind right now:
1. Who the heck is Tony Gentilcore, and why should I care who he is?
I'm a strength coach, Star Wars fanatic, happen to run a fairly successful blog (www.TonyGentilcore.com), and co-founder of one of the most killer gyms in the world - Cressey Performance, located just outside of Boston, MA.
2. What's the deal behind this workout plan?
Simple: to give people an opportunity to have some structure, be "coached" by a high-level strength coach, and become more of a beast (get stronger, get leaner, move better, be able to arm wrestle He-Man, or whatever the word "beast" means to you).
Speaking candidly, I really want to try to make this into something cool. I want people to actually know what it's like to follow a coherent, well-structured, well-planned, LONG-TERM program that will help them get stronger, move better, become more confident, and feel like a million bucks.
This is more than just casually following The Six Pack Abs Workout or The Wolverine Workout because you think Hugh Jackman is, well, jacked.
This is about improving one's life, taking the bull by the proverbial horns, and bringing out our inner beast mode.
That means different things to different people, of course. For some it may entail training for health reasons. For others maybe it's working up to a 2x bodyweight deadlift. And for others, it may be all about vanity. Whatever. I'm not here to judge
And yes, it's about having a little fun.
But also recognize that it's about the journey, the process, the certain times you'll hate life (and me), and to help you get outside your comfort zone.
The truth is: we're all human, and we like to do what we're good at. This program is the opposite of that. It's designed to make you do things that you "need" to be doing, and not necessarily what you "want" to be doing.
This is going to be the first of THREE phases which will serve as an introduction of sorts. In many ways, this will be about as close as you're going to get to training at Cressey Performance without actually walking through the doors of Cressey Performance.
Are you ready?
